The Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager will lead Avetta's revenue accounting function, prepare all internal and external reporting, and advise on technical accounting matters. This role plays an integral part of supporting the accounting organizations scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support the revenue cycle, including month-end processing, deferred revenues, recognized revenues, reserves, bad debt analysis, system reconciliations, ASC 606 Revenue Reporting, and management reporting. Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and policy. Advise on process improvements and own all revenue process documentation.
  • Oversee all revenue reporting including revenue by legal entity, reporting jurisdictions, product, geography, and international reporting compliance.
  • Perform technical accounting research and analysis for new accounting guidance and new or existing business transactions and processes. Document, implement, and communicate conclusions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the external auditors regarding the consolidated audit process including managing PBC lists, coordinating walkthroughs, etc.
  • Prepare and analyze all internal management, board reporting, and GAAP reporting for clarity, transparency, accuracy, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Review foreign currency system configuration and output related to cumulative translation adjustment, realized and unrealized foreign currency gains/losses. Translate complex FX accounting guidance into practical system configurations and workflows.
  • Provide FX guidance for new businesses, system launches, scenarios to the accounting and operational teams.
  • Support accounting for M&A, equity transactions, and other non-routine events.
  • Initiate, improve, and create efficiencies in systems and procedures; draft and maintain global accounting policies and ensure consistent application across entities.
  • Foster an environment of high-quality work, team collaboration, and accountability.
  • Communicate early and often; manage communications multi-directionally throughout the organization; escalate risks and issues to leadership when

IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING:



  • 7+ years of experience in a technical accounting and/or financial reporting role for a global
  • Active CPA or international equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related
  • Highly technical and analytical CPA.
  • Public accounting/audit experience that includes participating in process walkthroughs and owning the resulting documentation.
  • Experience researching, documenting, and communicating technical accounting matters, exhibiting attention to detail.
  • Proven experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines delivering outcomes across multiple priorities.
  • Outcome driven, clear verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate complex topics in a digestible manner to multiple audiences.
  • Proven experience with US GAAP including: ASC 606 revenue recognition and revenue cycle skills in a SAAS environment, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 815, ASC 830, ASC 718
  • Experience in a large, multi-entity, international accounting department demonstrating expanded roles and responsibilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (advanced filtering, xlookup, pivot tables, power pivot, power query).
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP Software, Zuora subscription management and revenue recognition, Workiva, and EPM tools such as Hyperion, Oracle FCCS, Onestream, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and communicate clear objectives, details, and outcomes with multiple internal and external parties including FP&A, legal, accounting team, external auditors, sales ops, and product.
