Summary
Accounting Analyst I is primarily responsible for all inputs and calculations related to the commission accounting process for CommunityAmerica CUSO One, LLC and its subsidiaries. This includes the ongoing maintenance of the commission subledgers and properly recording and reconciling the transactions in the accounting general ledger. This position will support the commission accounting activities of several business units including Copper Financial, LLC ("Copper") as a registered securities broker-dealer and registered investment advisor as well as CommunityAmerica Insurance Agency ("CAIA"). This position supports reporting and analysis related to the various company's budget, cost centers, and financial forecasts.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily maintenance and import of transactions into the commission platform from various sources including DTCC, Apex, and other manual statements.
- Research and correct daily importing errors, as necessary.
- Gather and maintain supporting documentation to accurately record and support commission information.
- Perform reconciliations between cash accounts, subledgers, and general ledgers.
- Responsible for monthly commissions platform subledger close.
- Prepare and distribute monthly billing statements for external partners.
- Prepare monthly performance reporting on gross dealer concessions and new invested dollars for products and registered representatives.
- Calculate payouts for registered representatives and their assistants.
- Provide timely and accurate delivery of payout information to HR for payroll processing.
- Supports the Senior Accountant with other accounting functions including, but not limited to, monthly general ledger close, tax form preparation, and account reconciliations.
- Serve as a backup for the Senior Accountant.
- Ensure commission information properly flows into downstream applications (CRM platform, General Ledger) and be willing to adapt processes to accommodate the needs of other systems.

Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, FFEIC, FASB)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Access databases.
- Familiarity with commission files and statements and experience working in commission software.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Accounting experience in financial services industry (bank, credit union, broker-dealer, registered investment advisor, and/or insurance agency is ideal).
