The Senior Group Leader will be responsible for providing before school and after school care for children in CTI's School Age Program. They will receive staffing assignments regarding daily curriculum, provide supervision to children in 1:13 ratio, and act as a coach to the youth enrolled. The Senior Group Leader will act as the site Lead in charge during times when Site Manager is not on site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Represent as the Lead in charge when a Site Manager is not on site, maintaining site operations.
  • Assist in implementing program policies and procedures including maintaining accurate attendance and other records, following Early Education and Care Regulations and USDA Guidelines.
  • Responsible for working at all school age sites as assigned.
  • Provide supervision and safety of children. Maintain a daily group list and attendance.
  • Recognize the child enrolled as an individual, helping children to develop as a member of the group.
  • Present respectful communication and maintain standards for behavior through a positive approach.
  • Assist in creating the weekly curriculum.
  • To develop a relationship with the youth in the aim of providing support, guidance, friendship, positive interaction, exposure to positive activities, opportunities to learn life skills and positive problem-solving skills, to ease some of the fear, anger and sadness.
  • Demonstrate good character, emotional stability, and a responsible lifestyle while in the presence of youth.
  • Assist with daily activities and follow the daily curriculum plans and schedule
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces that include setting up the daily spaces (i.e.: breaking down tables, rearranging the spaces and cleaning at the end of the day).
  • Participate in case management of families involved. Share concerns about children and families with Site Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
  • Broaden knowledge of the cultural and ethnic heritage of the children and families served.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age, have a desire to work with youth and meet one of the following:
  • Have a bachelor's or associate degree and 3 months experience working with school age children; OR have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have 6 months experience including 3 months supervised experience at a school age childcare program; OR have nine months experience with school age children including three months supervised experience at a school age childcare program.
  • CORI/SORI/DCF/Fingerprinting
  • Evidence of physical exam within 1 year of hire date
  • Evidence or immunity to MMR
  • Participate in a minimum 12 hours of EEC approved training
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid as required by EEC
  • Must have reliable transportation
