Travel & Expense Specialist

The Global Travel and Expense Team is part of our Global Shared Service (GSS) organization, which provides global business and employees services to employees. The Customer Specialist, Global Travel & Expense will be the key day-to-day contact for General Mills travelers, travel arrangers, and suppliers. This role will lead compliance efforts across travel, credit card, and expense. The incumbent will also manage Travel & Expense communications tools and support key tools/products/solutions to drive and ensure outstanding employee satisfaction in support of our Travel & Expense strategy - Simple. Safe. Savvy.

This role will report to the Global Travel & Expense Manager and work closely with the Operations Specialist, Travel & Expense; Project Lead, Travel & Expense; Expense Reporting Team as well as our key suppliers (travel mgmt. company, airlines, hotels, car rentals, technology, expense, and credit card suppliers).

This role will involve exposure to and interactions with various global leaders within the Company.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Travel & Expense Communication Management

• Manage the travel & expense team communications tools to ensure accurate, updated information, and consistency in the marketing of these solutions.
• Provide day-to-day support to travelers and admins - answering questions, directing them to available resources.
• Manage the Travel Services mailbox - responding to questions/comments
• Maximize use of the General Mills Travel & Expense App - increase adoption and expand messaging strategy

Supplier Management

• Collaborate with our preferred suppliers (ex. travel management company, online booking tool, airline, hotels, car rental, etc.) to manage ongoing traveler/arranger issues & inquiries.
• Manage Global Hotel Program from annual RFP, execution, and management
• Manage supplier relationships on a strategic level

Miscellaneous

• Compliance Management - Strong focus on employee compliance opportunities - analyze; outline, recommend, and implement strategies; track improvement and adjust strategy as needed
• Employee Feedback Strategy - Build out and manage surveys, focus groups, attestation, and training
• Manage & expand globally existing travel programs - Business 2 Coach, Business/Personal Travel, and others based on business need & opportunity
• Make recommendations to support our overall travel & expense strategy.
• Strengthen and maintain key stakeholders (Sr. Executive Admins) relationships to ensure our senior leadership have a flawless travel & expense experience.
• Maintain effective stakeholder relationships at the local, regional, and global levels

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, related field OR equivalent job experience
• 5+ years of corporate travel management expertise
• Corporate online booking travel tools knowledge
• Supplier management experience
• Ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing), critical thinking, influencing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Ability to travel 10%

• This is a Minneapolis, MN based position and is not remote eligible.
• International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
