Description |
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring sales order paperwork is prepared by selecting lots and printing labels. Also, for coordinating the logistics for domestic and international shipments where delivery terms require, completing and organizing all shipping and receiving paperwork, and communicating appropriate information to cross-functional teams, while ensuring all company/transportation safety regulations are followed. |

Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Inbound Shipments - Verifies documentation and transactions
- Records purchase order receipts for raw materials and equipment
- Sends Procurement incoming material documentation
- Prints labels for deliveries considering specialized customer requests
- Makes labels needed for samples and raw materials
- Manages/Ensures all truck drivers comply with company safety regulations
- Outbound Shipments - Oversee preparation of goods for customer orders
- Selects production lots for orders strategically considering FIFO, accessibility, and warehouse maintenance
- Prints all work orders and labels for sales orders per the customer specialized requests
- Prepares all documentation (CoA, BOL, SDS, including other documents based on transportation requirements)
- Arranges logistics (if required) including designating carriers and scheduling pick-up
- Additional Responsibilities
- Manages the flow of truck drivers for any inbound/outbound shipments
- Maintains inventory shipping materials and supplies
- Organizes shipment for carriers such as FedEx, UPS, etc.
- Assists the Supply Chain Manager with cycle counts, warehouse housekeeping/organization
- Provides daily updates for orders pending pickup and orders ready to prepare
- Tracks shipments for on-delivery and communicate delays/issues to Supply Chain Manager
- Manages special customer orders and completes all required documents prior to shipment
- Uses SAP to process inbound/outbound orders and inventory management
- Updates/creates relevant SOP's/Processes as needed
- Manages sample orders from the customer through completion
- Ensures that samples are correctly labeled while using the most current documentation
- Reports out on customer sample progress
- Keeps sample laboratory well-stocked
- Provides written updates on the status of all samples
- Completes all other tasks to support supply chain and operations

- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Additional IATA, IMDG, and DOT Certification required of the ability to obtain within 90 days of starting the position
- 1-2 years of experience in shipping clerk (or similar) position or 2-4 years of experience in a chemical shipping and receiving department preferred
- Prior experience with SAP or other ERP systems
- Experience with Emergency Response, warehousing, DOT, cGMP standards, and general chemical manufacturing background desired
- Experience wearing required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toe shoes/boots
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
- Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results (Must be able to communicate in English)
- Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
- Exhibits a passion for continuous improvement and problem solving
- Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently or with team members to complete work assignments
- Critical thinking skills which allow assessments of situations and opportunities
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Knowledge and use of lean experience tools
