Under direct supervision of the Director of the Dietetic Internship, provides administrative support for the Dietetic Internship Program. The position manages student and faculty calendar for appointments, management student records, assists with clinical/internship sites, management internship events, and prepares correspondence and reports as directed.

Job duties

  • Supports student-related responsibilities including, but not limited to, tracking, student progression and internships evaluation documentation, mentor documents and calendars maintenance, and other needs of the Dietetic Internship Program.
  • Serves as the liaison for internship students and intern/clinical sites and preceptors; assists with establishing internship rotations, including creating and updating schedules and tracking specific site requirements; and assists with post-intern evaluations.
  • Provides administrative support for operations of the department, such as faculty & student meetings; responds to inquiries requiring an understanding of work-area policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and performs administrative services; makes arrangements for events and meetings; composes and types correspondence; screens telephone calls; attends department meetings and records minutes.
  • Generates basic reports; handles multiple projects; handles confidential issues or sensitive records on a somewhat regular basis using discretion and judgment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of own work and how it impacts operations outside of the work unit
  • Knowledge of advanced computer software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to represent the work area and the larger SLU community
  • Ability to communicate and interpret policies
  • Ability to convey complex information to others and take steps to ensure understanding
  • Ability to share information in a clear and concise manner, tailoring communication to different audiences
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, including file and record management

Minimum qualifications

High School education or its equivalent; supplemented with one to three (1-3) years of related experience; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
