Creative Producer, Marketing Content

Columbia Sportswear
life insurance, 401(k)
United States, California, Richmond
Aug 04, 2025

*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ in Richmond, CA. In-office expectation is 3 days a week*.

ABOUT THE POSITION

With the relaunch of our brand look and feel in 2023, our marketing creative has worked hard to differentiate Mountain Hardwear and affirm our position as both a tenured yet forward positioned brand - and we need a sharp, driven, experienced, and outrageously organized producer to continue seeking our wilder path.

We're looking for a Content Producer that will support the MHW Marketing Creative Team to deliver progressive outdoor marketing creative (photography, video, written and visual stories) each season. Working closely with the MHW Brand Creative Director, you will be the main point of contact for our 20+ seasonal external creative partners regarding contract negotiations, procurement, designing and driving project timelines, managing budgets and scope of work, orchestrating photo and video shoots (in the wild and in studio), receiving and organizing assets on Content Hub, and ensuring successful delivery of seasonal assets across all channels to internal and external partners.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Bring, foster, and maintain positive relationships with current, project-appropriate, on-brand creative partners.

  • Assist in assembling external project teams who align with budget and MHW creative vision.

  • Manage content creation budget and cost negotiations with external creative partners.

  • Be an expert project manager by designing and smoothly driving project timelines, dates and gates in all phases - from production to post-production, feedback rounds, and final asset delivery and placement - for on-time completion, clearly communicating MHW expectations to partners.

  • Order, receive, and manage seasonal apparel and equipment samples and accessories.

  • Assemble, pack, and deliver / send apparel and equipment kits on time for shoots. Track name and color of product that has been shot.

  • Anticipate needs and challenges for each shoot and be prepared in advance with solutions.

  • Stay informed and focused on seasonal marketing initiatives and budget priorities.

  • Attend on-location shoots when necessary to manage product, people, and adeptly support external creative teams in the field (trail, rock, snow).

  • Communicate clearly and kindly with internal MHW internal 'clients and partners', external project team members, and post-production personnel as needed to complete each job.

  • Ensure all final images and video are sized, formatted, named, placed, and tracked accurately.

  • Display and maintain fluency with necessary computer programs and keep up to speed with new technology in the field of digital and film photography and video.

  • Utilize the Columbia server structure and Content Hub as they relate to image hosting, storage, and archiving.

  • Perform basic functions within Figma to collaborate with and provide assets to the MHW Marketing Creative Team.

  • Support seasonal creation of PDP website photography.

  • Contribute to the creation of images of products and people as directed.

  • Prepare sets for upcoming shoots and ensure all equipment is available and functioning well. Fluency and ability to assist in setting / adjust lighting a plus.

  • Adhere to all departmental guidelines and standard operating procedures.

YOU ARE

  • Passionate about, knowledgeable, and comfortable in the outdoors in pursuits like hiking, trail running, climbing, bouldering, snowboarding, and skiing.

  • Extremely organized and a clear, kind, strong communicator.

  • Successful in directly interacting and building relationships with internal and external collaborators.

  • A seasoned, strong producer with experience managing multiple projects and deadlines. Agency experience a plus.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree, applicable certification or equivalent appropriate experience.

  • 2-4 years of professional experience and proficiency with software tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job of producer.

  • High level of project ownership, accountability for production assets, and project-based communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and anticipatory. Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Highly proficient technical skills, easily able to navigate Outlook, Asana, Content Hub, Milanote, Excel, and financial tracking systems. Basic Figma experience a plus.

  • Exceptional communication skills that facilitate working with remote teams seamlessly.

  • Ability to lift ~50lbs.
