The Role: Associate, Technology Strategy

This is a dynamic and hands-on role supporting Suffolk's innovation and technology strategy across both the Suffolk enterprise and the Suffolk Technologies venture capital firm. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Strategy and up through the Chief Technology Officer - who also is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Suffolk Technologies - you will play an important role in advancing key strategic initiatives that sit at the intersection of construction, technology and innovation, AI, and venture capital. You'll be expected to bring analytical rigor, structured thinking, and strong communication skills to a range of efforts - from supporting the development of technology strategy efforts across the enterprise to supporting venture platform strategy and investment theses.

This role is designed for an early- to mid-career professional eager to build deep exposure across corporate innovation and emerging technology ecosystems. You'll collaborate closely with senior leaders while also taking ownership of specific workstreams, helping translate vision into action. Whether you're developing business cases, producing materials for executive stakeholders, or coordinating cross-functional teams, your contributions will help inform critical decisions and accelerate Suffolk's technology and innovation roadmap. The position also serves as a strong platform for growth into more senior roles within the CTO organization, Suffolk Technologies, or Corporate Strategy.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

    Work on projects related to Suffolk's long-term technology and innovation strategy in partnership with the CTO, innovation leaders, and Suffolk Technologies venture capital team

  • Support the development of business cases for new technologies and AI-driven solutions, using both quantitative and qualitative research

  • Assist in advancing the venture capital team's strategic agenda, including fund strategy, platform strategy, thematic research, and investment focus areas

  • Support the creation of executive-level presentations to drive decision-making at the C-suite and Board level

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across construction operations, data & analytics, technology, and venture capital to gather insights and move workstreams forward

  • Contribute to the design and execution of workplans and help synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations under the direction of senior leaders

  • Support implementation of high-priority initiatives through milestone tracking, KPI reporting, and coordination across stakeholders

  • Take ownership of assigned workstreams while receiving direction and guidance from the Senior Manager, Technology Strategy and CTO



Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or a similar role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus-but not required

  • Deep curiosity and working knowledge of AI, digital transformation, and emerging technologies

  • Experience in real estate, construction, venture capital, or technology a plus-but not required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hypothesis-driven mindset

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience developing materials for senior executives

  • High proficiency in Excel modeling and comfort working with AI-powered tools and data platforms

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to "roll up your sleeves" to get the job done

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
