Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Salary: $62,400-$75,400 per year Shift: 1st Hours: 5:45am-3:30pm QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Technician position available at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a 1st shift, direct hire position. As a Maintenance Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining industrial equipment throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated systems. This is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to take on project work assigned individually or in a team. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production lines and various equipment. - Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues. - Maintain ancillary equipment like pumps, filters, and heaters. - Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules. - Document all maintenance activities. - Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly. - Use diagnostic tools to find and fix issues. - Maintain plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures. - Ensure safety and environmental compliance. - Monitor and help maintenance manager manage spare parts and supplies. - Coordinate with maintenance manager for critical parts and supplies. - Follow safety protocols and procedures. - Conduct safety inspections and ensure regulatory compliance. - Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs using the maintenance software. - Report on maintenance activities and equipment performance. - Work with production staff to prioritize maintenance tasks. - Collaborate with engineers and contractors for specialized repairs. - Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes. - This position may perform other duties as assigned. Maintenance Technician Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. - Three (3) years or more of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. - Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Proficient with hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment. - Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and in a team with excellent time management skills - Good communication and organizational skills. - Knowledge of safe work practices (LOTO, machine guarding, etc.) - Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, and stand. - Occasionally required to sit, carry, kneel, reach, climb, and handle materials. - Ability to lift - up to 20lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently. - Requires clear vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus. david.franz@qpsemployment.com About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
