GIS Technician - Heavy Civil Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Technician with experience in ArcGIS and civil construction environments. This role will support project teams by collecting, analyzing, and managing geospatial data for use in construction planning, execution, and reporting.

• Collect, analyze, and manage geospatial data using ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related tools.

• Develop and maintain GIS maps, layers, and databases for active construction projects.

• Integrate survey data, CAD files, drone imagery, and construction plans into GIS platforms.

• Support field and office staff with GIS tools for estimating, logistics, and project management.

• Conduct spatial analysis to support design, permitting, utility coordination, and environmental compliance.

• Produce accurate mapping and visualization products for stakeholder use, including project managers, superintendents, and clients.

• Assist with GPS/GNSS equipment setup and data processing for field layout.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Civil Engineering, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in ArcGIS in a construction, engineering, or land development environment.

• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Trimble Business Center a plus.

• Experience working with construction plans, topographic data, and utility mapping.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work in both office and field environments, including on active construction sites.

• Experience in heavy civil construction (e.g., highways, earthwork, water infrastructure).

• Working knowledge of surveying principles and GPS layout.

• Drone mapping or remote sensing experience a plus.

Working Conditions

• Construction Site Office Environment - Extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
