Mortgage Sr. Account Analyst

Responsible for wires transfers, check printing, general ledger reconciliation and interfacing of loans to servicing system. Responsible for daily operational functions of MSP servicing system. Prepares required loan sale data for investors. Performs required reviews of various monthly Investor Reporting requirements. Performs various month-end reporting requirements. Prepares various monthly management reports for senior management of the Bank. Perform various reviews and audits including internal and external audits. Assist with system implementations and migrations. Prepares monthly mortgage management reports. Assigned to special accounting projects.



What You Will Be Doing



  • Processes requests for wire transfers from mortgage closing department by inputting relevant data into First Bank First Forms Wire system. Coordinates with other department staff for dual verification and call backs to title companies.
  • Performs daily check printing using the MSP I Disburse application.
  • Performs various general ledger reconciliations input in to FIS PeopleSoft GL system.
  • Processes incoming wire transfers and prepares loan sale journals from various investors and inputs into general ledger. Transfers individual loans on the MSP loan servicing system to the appropriate investors as sales occur.
  • Performs or validates the appropriate MERS transactions for new loans, and sale of beneficial rights or servicing rights, either through MSP system or directly on MERS website.
  • Reviews the MERS mailbox daily to ensure there are no notifications of legal action and if so obtains appropriate documents for management processing.
  • Performs bank account reconciliations for various investor bank accounts
  • Processes payoff transactions for funds received from borrowers via check or wire transfer.
  • Backup for investor accounting specialist for daily remittances to investors.
  • Backup for all daily payment processing and payment reversal transactions.
  • Backup for processing requests for automatic payment setup on MSP system.
  • Runs daily and monthly various management reports using the MSP query system Passport.
  • Assist with the MERS monthly, Bi-Annual and Annual audits and reviews.
  • Prepares many of the monthly mortgage management reports that are provided to senior management, that summarize and analyze various components of the Bank Portfolio loans.
  • Performs bank account reconciliations for various investor bank accounts
  • Reviews all bank reconciliations performed in the mortgage division and approves the reconciliations for audit purposes.
  • Prepares the monthly mortgage company delinquent reports for management, that are used in preparing the monthly reserve analysis for loan allowance.
  • Works directly with internal audit through the various internal and Sarbanes-Oxley audits, and ensures that all internal controls continue to be met.
  • Works with any investor requests for their external audit requirements, such as Fannie Mae or GNMA.
  • Manages the mortgage loan sales to investors each month. This consists of sales to investors with servicing released as well as sales into Mortgage Backed Security Pools with servicing retained. Responsible for determining the Investors' data requirements on each sale and preparing the appropriate data files/reports needed. Coordinates with secondary marketing department the various loan sale transactions.
  • Manage and reviews all of the monthly Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and GNMA remitting, reporting, and reconciling functions.
  • Manages and reviews all of the other investor reporting requirement for all private investors for whom we service loans.
  • Responsible for reporting requirements for the Home Affordable Modification Program. Coordinates the various requirements between Treasury and FNMA reporting system. Backup for investor accounting specialist for daily remittances to investors.
  • Updates department procedures to reflect any regulatory and/or system changes.
  • Performs some special project request from Director of Accounting, they may require creating data files through the MSP Query system

What You Will Need



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or 10+ years of working in loan and/or corporate accounting with a High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D).
  • CPA desired
  • Knowledge of FNMA and Freddie Mac reporting requirements; understanding of various investor reporting formats.
  • Knowledge of general ledgers and spreadsheet software is also required.
