TITLE: IT Specialist II



POSITION OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile IT Specialist to manage and support our company's technology infrastructure and business applications. This role is responsible for maintaining servers, networks, security systems, and enterprise applications while also providing end-user support.


This is a hands-on, full-spectrum IT role ideal for a self-starter with broad technical expertise and a problem-solving mindset.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3-5 years of experience in a broad IT role (systems, network, apps)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, routers, and VPNs.
  • Basic scripting or programming (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or light web dev skills)


  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Proxmox) Cloud services knowledge (e.g., Microsoft 365, Endpoint Management, or Azure)
  • Experience supporting databases (SQL, Postgres, Oracle)
  • Familiarity with basic web development or maintenance.
  • Security+ or other IT certifications (optional but a plus)


  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.


  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Infrastructure & Systems Administration



  • Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and virtual environments.
  • Monitor system performance, backups, and availability.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory/Group Policies.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and perform regular updates and patching.


Network Management



  • Administer firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless access points.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure network security.
  • Monitor uptime, logs, and bandwidth usage.


Application Support



  • Provide technical support and maintenance for core business applications.
  • Act as liaison between departments and software vendors for troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Support integration between business tools and services.
  • Train users and create documentation for business applications.


User Support & Helpdesk



  • Respond to user support requests in person and through helpdesk systems.
  • Install and configure workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Assist in onboarding/offboarding of employees from an IT perspective.
