We are seeking a strategic, execution-oriented Chief of Staff to support the Chief People Officer (CPO) and lead the incubation of a Workplace Relations Center of Excellence (COE). This individual will operate as a trusted thought partner to the CPO, enabling operational excellence, driving cross-functional initiatives, and establishing scalable systems to support employee relations, compliance, and manager enablement.

The Chief of Staff will also lead the design and implementation of policies, protocols, and tools that ensure a consistent, value-aligned approach to workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and manager capability building, in close partnership with HR Business Partners and Employment Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Chief of Staff Support to the CPO

  • Drive People Team annual planning, goal setting, and quarterly OKR tracking.

  • Function as a strategic advisor, sounding board, and force-multiplier to the CPO.

  • Lead the end-to-end HR budget process, ensuring strategic alignment of resources, managing planning cycles, and partnering with Finance and HRLT to drive fiscal discipline and transparency.

  • Lead cross-functional project management for high-impact people initiatives.

  • Coordinate executive and board-level deliverables related to People strategy and performance.

  • Ensure prioritization, decision-making, and internal communications are clear and effective across the People function.

2. Incubate and Lead the Workplace Relations COE

  • Build the vision, structure, and operating model for the Workplace Relations Center of Excellence.

  • Design and implement modern workplace investigation protocols, case management processes, and documentation standards.

  • Develop scalable, values-based policies and best-practice frameworks for workplace conduct, performance management, and conflict resolution.

  • Partner with Legal/Employment Counsel to ensure alignment with labor laws and risk mitigation practices.

  • Identify and deploy technology solutions (e.g., case tracking, knowledge bases, workflow automation).

  • Create and deliver training, toolkits, and capability-building programs for HRBPs and People Managers.

3. Operational Leadership & Team Enablement

  • Act as a connective tissue across COEs, HRBPs, and business leaders to align execution with strategy.

  • Support People leadership team meetings, agendas, and follow-through.

  • Provide ad hoc strategic analysis, research, and recommendations to the CPO.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience supporting senior executives in Chief of Staff, strategy, or HR leadership roles.

  • 10 years of experience in HR, People Operations, Legal/Compliance, or Business Operations roles.

  • 10 years of experience with HR policies, employee relations, employment law, and workplace investigations.

  • Previous experience designing and operationalizing new functions or COEs.

  • Advanced project management skills as well as HR technology tools (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, case management platforms).

  • Function as the escalation point for ER Specialists for critical employee relations cases and claims

  • History of success, collaborating and coaching leadership at the Executive level.

  • Previous experience influencing and partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and HRBPs.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to be discreet, trustworthy, and able to manage sensitive issues with care and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth, matrixed organization.

  • Familiarity with employment law in multi-state or global contexts.

The base salary range for this position is$250,000-$275,000.In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here:Teladoc Health Benefits 2025.Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
