Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a part time Unit Administrator/ Specialist for the International Students Office. This position will serve as the Designated Service Officer (
DSO)/International Student Advisor, utilizing knowledge of F1visa immigration regulations to inform and advise international students on matters related to F1 visa status. The
DSO will be responsible for initiating and processing: change of status,
OPT/
CPT,
STEM extensions, on campus and off-campus employment, program completion, transfer in and out, address changes, and wide range of issues related to F1 visa holders. The position will routinely maintain and update
SEVIS records for new and current international students and routinely work successfully within the
SUNAPSIS platform. The
DSO will liaise with the Rutgers Global lead administrator while working with director of
OIS on improving process flow within
SUNAPSIS. The position will also advise international students and assist with the development and delivery of workshop sessions such as F1 visa maintenance, new student orientation,
OPT/
CPT processing, among others related to F1 visa holders. Provide friendly, knowledgeable guidance to international student body.

A range of $25/hour - $28/hour. |

Work Arrangement |
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in business, global affairs, or related field.
- Minimum two years of comprehensive experience as a DSO with minimum one year of experience with SUNAPSIS.
- A one-year minimum experience advising international students on relevant matters is also required. Ability to communicate regulatory and campus policies to students, working effectively with a diverse student population.
- Proficiency in Word, Powerpoint, Excel and use of Zoom technology required.
- Ability to communicate well and work with campus stakeholders and international students.
- Requires high degree of organizational skills and ability to multi-task, meet deadlines.
- Thorough understanding of CFRs/immigration laws and NAFSA guidelines.
- Foreign language(s) a plus.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
