POSITION SUMMARY

The Attendant, Food & Beverage (Catering) supports catered events by providing professional, courteous service and assisting with food preparation under the direction of the Catering or Unit Manager. Responsibilities include operating food service equipment, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and supporting event setup and breakdown. This role ensures compliance with Winter Park Resort policies, health and liquor codes, and all applicable laws.

WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort's hourly pay for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Hourly pay range: $18

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Performs opening and closing procedures
  • Treats our guests like gold - greets, interacts, and thanks guests
  • Prepares for anticipated demand (this includes stocking work area with daily needs)
  • Assists in a variety cooking areas with basic skill knowledge
  • Assists in the dish room and pot and pan sinks, as necessary
  • Ensures that products to be served in the work area are prepared and ready for service
  • Provides service to customers on serving lines
  • Keep serving lines, condiment stands, and drink lines stocked with proper levels of disposables and products
  • Sets-up par-lists for work areas and assist F&B warehousemen with stocking of work areas
  • Becomes knowledgeable of local facts and history to effectively answer guest's questions
  • Takes daily, weekly, and monthly inventories
  • Keeps work areas clean throughout the day (this includes all food service counters, floors walls, coolers, storerooms, bussing stations, and restrooms as required)
  • Assists in the general cleaning of all F&B areas in unit
  • Breaks down and cleans service stations
  • Occasionally assists with on-the-job training of new employees
  • Maintains a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with the guests and other employees
  • Documents, reports, and takes appropriate action to correct unsafe or unsanitary conditions or policy infractions
  • Tracks daily usage of products and uses information to predict future needs
  • Adheres to uniform and personal standards as set forth in the company handbook or as designated by F&B employee handbook or management
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • TIPS Certified desirable but may be obtained after employment


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Catering, serving, or food service experience desirable (including knowledge of food and beverage and catering equipment)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer functionality required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Catering Attendants may be required to travel to specific Winter Park Resort locations based on event demands.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may be required to work overnight, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and taste or smell.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: non slip footwear and gloves.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.
  • Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
