Job Summary Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to enable proper operation and preservation of buildings, utilities, equipment, grounds, and facilities. Works independently but capable of performing complex building maintenance services including assisting trades workers with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) tasks. Essential Functions 40% - Complex Maintenance and Repairs: Monitors, maintains, and performs more complex building maintenance repairs involving mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and energy management systems. Addresses electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and roofing issues; performs repairs not requiring licensed trade personnel. Assists trades workers on major projects. Performs preventative maintenance on cooling, water, heat, air, drainage, and other infrastructure systems 20% - Work Order & Emergency Response: Responds to requests and complaints from the work order system or emergency calls. Handles more complex complaints not resolved at a lower level 15% - Vendor Coordination & Oversight: Investigates repair issues and obtains trade services if necessary. Coordinates and oversees work performed by external vendors 15% - Safety, Compliance & Documentation: Retrieves and updates information in reports, logs, or other documentation systems. Reads, understands, and interprets safety sheets and warning labels. Adheres to and ensures compliance with applicable policies and procedures 10% - Tool, Equipment, and General Duties: Keeps assigned tools and/or equipment in clean and safe working condition: Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and three (3) years of specialized building maintenance and/or repair experience related to area of assignment. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications A. Five (5) years' experience working in a facilities maintenance team or department B. Five (5) years' experience as a multi-trade facilities maintainer, performing a wide range of maintenance and repairs independently C. Three (3) years' experience supporting trades personnel on remodeling projects Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
