Position Title:Manager, Physician Compensation - Hybrid option available - Oklahoma City Department:Financial Services Job Description:

General Description:

Coordinate and perform data and financial analyses relating to compensation, productivity, and deployment. Play a key role in administration of physician compensation plans. Monitor analytics relating to revenue cycle performance and leads annual compensation plan reviews. Develop, implement and/or maintain financial analysis, modeling, and support in order to provide accurate and responsive information to management and other stakeholders. Lead a variety of analytical complex tasks including variance and sensitivity analyses and other activities to support process improvements. Uses skills related to medical practice financial and operational performance full understanding of industry practices relating to physician compensation, market analysis and benchmarking.

  • Work with OUHP Leadershipto develop reporting tools relating to Physician FTE, productivity and deployment. Publish tools to Physicians, service line leaders, Division Chiefs, School of Medicine Administrators and Chairs, and OU Health's senior leadership to foster a common understanding of provider clinical activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare complex financial analyses and modeling to enable short- and long-term decision making by company, service line, and senior leaders.
  • Administer OU Health Partner's Physician compensation plans, coordinating with HR, payroll, legal, and service line leaders. Serve as a productivity and compensation subject-matter expert, resolving subject-matter questions and issues.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external team members to exchange knowledge and expertise.
  • Integrate CPI thinking, tools and methodologies into the essential functions to standardize the work and continuously seek improvement in department processes and service delivery to stakeholders.
  • Conducts audits of compensation related items per pay period to ensure items such as status, FTE, shift, job title, and alternate codes have been calculated and entered correctly.
  • Participate and provide data input for annual salary surveys and submit all salary surveys.
  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:B.A. degree in financial field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or similar). M.B.A. MHA degree, preferred.

Experience:Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in medical practice financial or operational performance.Experience working with decision support systems, other financial applications and reporting systems, preferred. Understanding of physician compensation plans and methodologies and market resources.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) required:None required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills; successful engagement with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in work.
  • Strong skills Microsoft software programs with exceptional skills in Excel, and working knowledge of Power Point, and Word.
  • Familiarity with federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to physician/provider compensation, especially as it relates to fair market value evaluation.
  • Familiarity with physician compensation and productivity benchmarks and tools.
  • Knowledge/ understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Understanding of organizational policies, procedures and processes
  • Ability to lead projects.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize workload, and be flexible to change.
  • Knowledge/ understanding of continuous process improvement (CPI) and proven track record of applying (CPI) to processes.
  • Experience with conducting research, analyzing information and data and presenting findings in a concise format.
  • Work with diverse populations, both internally and externally.
  • Experience working with Prism or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experienced with Workday and Provider's Compensation Surveys preferred.
