Management & Strategy Consultant - Public Safety and Emergency Communications (CONTINGENT HIRE)

Job Summary: The Management & Strategy Consultant - Public Safety and Emergency Communications - will support FSLTT clients in a variety of tasks that help advance and improve emergency communications interoperability and resiliency. Tasks could include leading delivery teams in meeting planning and facilitation, strategic planning, product development, and providing stakeholder engagement support and leadership, including strategic communications, developing and presenting briefings, and managing project status and milestone tracking.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply broad emergency communications/IT/cybersecurity background to stakeholder engagement, strategic, and programmatic support to assist clients with solution definition and execution.
  • Aid in the development of plans, policies, and products that reduce risk and align with organizational initiatives and requirements.
  • Lead meeting design and planning and facilitate complex client/stakeholder meetings/engagement.
  • Manage or perform qualitative and quantitative research and data gathering to identify key themes, trends, and opportunities from complex information to support implementation of initiatives.
  • Provide daily programmatic support by coordinating tasks, tracking programmatic issues, supporting meetings, preparing activity reports, and developing program briefs.
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder analyses by capturing and summarizing key points from meetings and translating insights into products such as plans, briefings, reports, fact sheets, talking points, and white papers.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of strategic messaging and associated communications materials such as infographics.
  • Develop and manage updates to project planning documents such as project charters, standard operating procedures, deliverable trackers, and roadmaps/schedules.
  • Build strong relationships with mid- and senior-level clients and stakeholders



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting or project management role
  • Experience in consulting, emergency communications, IT, cybersecurity, or a national security-related field
  • Experience leading multi-month projects concurrently
  • Ability to understand complex program policies/plans/directives, and then apply knowledge to identify and recommend approaches and deliverables
  • Experience developing briefings, analyzing trends in large data sets, and providing recommendations on business processes and workflows
  • Proficiency in information and collaboration technologies such as Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint to evaluate, create, store, and communicate information.
  • Experience leading discussions, presenting project status updates, and proposing solutions to managers or clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills.
  • Strong cultural fit and value alignment with Lafayette Group, Inc.
  • Ability to attain a U.S. government public trust and/or security clearance, if required.




Desired Qualifications:


  • DHS or CISA Entry on Duty (EOD)
  • Experience in federal government consulting
  • PMP or other industry certification such as CISSP
  • Experience with Confluence/Jira, ServiceNow, and Power BI/Tableau
  • Experience and/or interest in homeland security and cybersecurity/IT programs, tools, and concepts


Location: (Remote)

Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000
