The Assistant Director, Transfer Admissions Processing oversees the evaluation and processing of undergraduate transfer applications, including transfer credit articulation and residency determination. This role plays a key part in shaping efficient, accurate workflows and ensuring timely handling of application materials. The Assistant Director also provides leadership to a team of professional and support staff, contributing to a collaborative and service-oriented admissions environment.
Job Description Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Oversees the coordination and ongoing development of transfer articulation processes, ensuring effective implementation, documentation, and system maintenance.
- Evaluates and interprets transfer course content; updates and manages the Transfer Articulation Catalog to reflect accurate, up-to-date equivalencies.
- Partners with academic advisors, departments, colleges, and external institutions to support consistent and accurate evaluation of transfer credit.
- Prepares reports and documentation that inform decision-making and reflect thoughtful analysis and recommendations.
- Collaborates with Records and Registration staff to align transfer credit with degree audit requirements and address related issues.
- Reviews and updates admissions records to ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal policies; maintains data accuracy within student information systems.
- Supervises and supports processing staff, offering guidance, training, and problem-solving expertise to promote effective workflows.
- Contributes to setting goals and performance indicators to assess progress and support continuous improvement within the unit.
- Stays informed on developments in transfer policy and admissions technology; evaluates tools and practices for potential implementation.
- Participates in the review and processing of residency classifications and provides oversight for staff managing residency determinations.
Other Duties:
- Represents Undergraduate Admissions on university committees and participates in campus events and other recruitment and yield events.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Four years of directly related full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Experience working in transfer articulation and with statewide policies the govern its practices and implementation.
- Experience with large relational databases, such as Banner.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualification:
- Professional full-time work experience in higher education admissions processing.
- Experience in applying federal, state and university guidelines governing admission practices.
- Experience with transfer credit articulation.
- Experience with Banner and Slate.

- Knowledge of University Policies regarding Course Transfers and Maintain University Transfer Course Catalog.
