Description
Position Summary: The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, engineering processes, quality control activities such as packaging, returns and repairs. Safety within the organization is paramount and this role ensures that the company adheres to federal and state Quality Control protocols and standards including OSHA, CSPC, EPA, and NYS DEC requirements. The manager develops and implements OHS policies, conducts regulatory training, and supervises a team of sixteen hourly employees which includes payroll, vacation, performance evaluations, and employee relations. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Includes but not limited to: * Regulatory Compliance: Acts as the primary contact for testing protocols and lab results for both vendors and MacKenzie-Childs products. Reviews and evaluates test reports, collaborates with departments to resolve compliance issues, and identifies potential risks. Provides reports and information on a consistent basis. * Quality Assurance: Establishes and manages quality procedures, trains and mentors lead inspectors and works with operations to maintain high-quality standards for received and manufactured goods. * Vendor/Supplier Performance: Oversees the process of developing and monitoring vendors and suppliers for packaging, labeling, dimensions, and product weight through ongoing communication, follow-up, and reporting. * Key Performance Indicators: Develops and monitors KPIs such as defect rates, inspection pass rates, and audit scores to assess the effectiveness of quality systems. * Management: Performs other duties such as managerial as needed to support business objectives. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises the Quality Control Supervisor and Inspectors, including interviewing and making hiring recommendations, providing job instruction and training, assigning and scheduling work, and conducting performance appraisals. Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Quality Control, or related field required * Three to five years of relevant quality assurance experience * Three to five years of supervisory experience * Driver's License required * One to three years in an engineering environment, including technical support and repairs; and report analysis * Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Certification, or equivalent preferred * Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel (Office 365) Special Requirements: * Regular travel between company operations in Fulton NY and corporate office locations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Strong organizational and prioritization skills * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities * High level of professionalism * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills * Effective multitasking and time management Equipment Used: * Computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and calculator * Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Physical and Mental Requirements * Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, climb stairs, grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive hand or wrist motions * Must be able to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly * Requires close mental and visual attention for data preparation, analysis, and interpretation using a computer terminal Environmental Conditions: * Work takes place in both office and warehouse settings, with exposure to temperature changes and noise Salary:70,000-80,000/annual Benefits:
