Salary Range: $49,250-65,000

Position Summary
Education Abroad and Overseas Campuses serves as the central unit responsible for promoting and facilitating education abroad at Temple University. Education Abroad administers academic year, semester, and summer study abroad programs hosted by Temple's overseas campuses in Italy and Japan; offered through exchange and other institutional partners around the globe and developed and led by Temple faculty members. Enrolling and serving an average of 1300 Temple and non-Temple students a year, the Education Abroad team is committed to providing transformative global learning experiences that prepare the diverse students from Temple and our U.S. partner institutions to develop as engaged global citizens, collective problem-solvers, and leaders in their chosen field.

The Assistant Director for Program Development facilitates program development and renewal of study abroad programs under the direction of the Senior Associate Director; advances curriculum integration of study abroad across the university; and supports assessment and evaluation of education abroad.

The Assistant Director will collaborate with program leaders, partner programs and institutions, and education abroad staff to develop and implement faculty-led programs, including outlining program itinerary and dates, course offerings and content, policies and procedures, budgets, marketing and recruitment plans, and assessment. They will work with department chairs, faculty, academic advisors, and other key constituents to increase curriculum and career integration of study abroad, in line with Education Abroad's mission, vision, and goals.

The Assistant Director leads Education Abroad's student advisory committee, with the aim of enhancing inclusion in study abroad and informing the unit's approach for engaging and supporting students from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines. The Assistant Director participates in the promotion of international education.

This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented leader who enjoys collaborating with program directors, faculty, program partners, Education Abroad colleagues, and key constituents across the university. The Assistant Director must be able to represent Education Abroad's commitment to academic excellence professionally, credibly, and authoritatively to university-level administrators and faculty and must have a sophisticated understanding of study abroad curricular issues, program models, recruitment, and program management. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree
* Four (4) years of administrative experience in higher education; to include a minimum of three (3) years in education abroad
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
* Master's degree
* Experience with curriculum integration of study abroad and/or working with faculty
* International experience, living or studying abroad

Required Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrated understanding of higher education and best practices in education abroad
* Experience in program development, education abroad advising, and/or program management
* Demonstrated professionalism with the ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Highly motivated and self-directed
* Strong organizational and managerial leadership skills
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
* Demonstrated commitment to student service and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents
* Must be organized, detail-oriented, and possess problem-solving skills
* Experience with CRMs, data management, and/or Terra Dotta
* Proficient with Microsoft Suite
* Must be willing and able to travel on occasion
* Must be available to occasionally work in the evenings and on weekends

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
