WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR III

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR III

• Operate and maintain Carpenter's central wastewater treatment plant (WTP), sludge drying and various pre-treatment facilities used to treat and process wastewater and waste by-products from major production departments to meet or exceed all federal and state environmental regulations and permit requirements.
• Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
• Collects water samples for chemical analysis.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR III

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department management.
• Three or more years of waste treatment experience.
• Knowledge of waste management operations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
• Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
