Essential Job Duties |
The College Success Coach will support the mission of the department by delivering holistic, high-impact services to undergraduate students who are first-generation college students and/or meet income requirements. A person in this position will assist with key responsibilities that include providing academic and career support, facilitating personal development, planning for graduate/professional school, and monitoring progress.
Student Coaching & Support
- Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching to students on academic skills, career development, study strategies, time management, and goal setting.
- Support students in developing individualized success plans and tracking academic, career and personal progress throughout the semester.
- Offer support related to graduate school exploration, career planning, and financial literacy under the supervision of professional staff.
Programming & Outreach
- Assist in planning and implementing workshops, events, and community-building activities focused on academic success, financial wellness, career and personal development.
Progress Monitoring & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student interactions in the program database (e.g., Blumen, Excel, or other systems).
- Assist with data collection and reporting efforts required for the federal Annual Performance Report (APR).
- Contribute to assessment and evaluation of services to ensure alignment with grant objectives.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with campus partners to connect students to tutoring, mental health support, advising, and career services.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions, contributing ideas to improve services and engagement.

Work Schedule |
Monday-Friday / 8:30 - 5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends (25 hours) |
Other Work/Responsibilities |
- Provide individualized career coaching and counseling services, assessing student needs and helping them make informed career decisions
- Serve as lead instructor for the internship course
- Deliver engaging one-on-one coaching sessions and group workshops on a range of career topics
- Administer and interpret assessments measuring interests, skills, values, and abilities
- Review and provide actionable feedback on resumes, cover letters, and professional online profiles
- Conduct mock interviews and provide tailored interview preparation and feedback
- Collaborate with academic advisors to integrate career development into student orientation and coursework
- Support the planning and execution of college-wide career events, such as career fairs, employer panels, and networking events
- Stay current on industry trends, job market data, and employer expectations to guide student decision-making
- Partner with the director to develop strategic initiatives and contribute to goal-setting and reporting
- Assist with data collection and preparation of the department's annual report
- Represent the office at college and university-wide events

Minimum Experience/Education |
- Master's degree in counseling, student personnel services, or a related field; or a bachelor's degree with equivalent professional training and experience
