If so, General Mills is looking for a Sales Trade Planning Lead to support our Stop & Shop and Hannaford teams, while also serving as the key point on our Meals & Baking Operating Units (OUs) for the Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) planning team.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of our trade marketing strategies, providing field sales teams with the analytic, trade planning, and trade systems support they need to deliver return on net sales and share growth. You will serve as the liaison between the ADUSA field sales team and the OUs, interacting with Sales Leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to influence both internal and external stakeholders, working with a key strategic grocer and gaining exposure to Senior Leaders within General Mills (GMI).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executional Excellence:
    • Take personal accountability and ownership for results, deeply understand consumers, deliver market leading innovation and prioritize what's important
    • Maintain accurate planning and spending information in the trade planning system; educate others on the importance of trade planner accuracy
    • Integrate customer data and knowledge of GMI's trade strategy to make promotion and incentive recommendations to advance GMI's trade marketing strategies
    • Implement and evaluate the trade strategies for a specific category or customer and make recommendations for improvements
    • Participate in the design of promotional programs and coordinate their implementation with key customers
  • Problem Solving & Analytics:
    • Gather and analyze syndicated data (e.g., from Nielsen, Circana, consumers, and/or customers) in order to identify opportunities to drive sales volume through distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing.
    • Leverage enterprise-wide problem-solving tools (e.g., YY, Focused Improvement, Fishbone, etc.) and stakeholders to address business problems
  • Selling Expertise & Leadership:
    • Provide selling teams with support and guidance on trade tools provided by GMI's central trade planning team
    • Assist with the development of customer presentations
    • Support the development of joint business plans with customers by defining opportunities, providing key information and preparing presentation materials

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in sales, account management, trade funding, category management, or other relevant experience
  • Successful demonstration of analytical skills using various data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana, sales data)
  • Experience using a Trade Promotion Management software
  • Experience leading direct reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working within ADUSA banners (Food Lion, Giant, The Giant Company, Hannaford, Stop&Shop)

Additional Considerations:

  • International relocation arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered
  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.
  • This role is based out of our Eastern Business Center (EBC), just outside of Philadelphia, PA. If you are not in the area, relocation assistance will be provided.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $81000.00 - $121700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Beyond base salary, General Mills offers a competitive Total Rewards package focusing on your overall well-being.
