The SBA Loan Servicing Specialist ensures the bank's SBA portfolio remains fully compliant with federal regulations through expert management of post-closing loan servicing, SBA reporting, and guaranty purchase submissions. This role acts as the primary liaison between the bank and the SBA, maintaining accurate reporting via systems such as ETRAN and preparing files for SBA loan guaranty purchases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission, reconciliation, and correction of the SBA Form 1502 report in accordance with SBA and FTA standards.
- Prepare and submit complete and compliant Uniform Purchase Package (UPP) requests for SBA loan guaranty purchases.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the bank and the SBA, including coordination with SBA Servicing Centers, Denver Finance Office, and National Guaranty Purchase Center.
- Monitor and process loan payoffs, prepayments, and post-repurchase payment updates using ETRAN and internal systems.
- Maintain service action updates in ETRAN consistent with SBA's Servicing Matrix and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Ensure all SBA portfolio activities adhere to applicable SBA regulations and SOP requirements.
- Maintain subject matter expertise on SBA loan compliance and servicing rules to guide internal practices and decision-making.
- Support ongoing portfolio administration reporting needs as directed by the Director of SBA Lending.
- Recommend enhancements to servicing workflows and systems to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency.
- Track servicing-related ticklers, portfolio exceptions, and investor notices to ensure proper loan administration.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 4 years of loan servicing, with at least 2 years directly supporting SBA 7(a) or SBA portfolio compliance and reporting.
- In-depth understanding of SBA 7(a) program regulations, ETRAN, and SBA Servicing Matrix
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and loan servicing systems
- Ability to independently analyze, reconcile, and resolve reporting issues with a high level of accuracy
- Experience communicating with regulators or external government agencies preferred
- Strong organizational, documentation, and verbal/written communication skills

- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
