About the Role

Working on the Ideas & Insights team within Global Affairs, this role helps manage a sentiment-tracking and message-testing operation that guides the design of campaign initiatives, the establishment of strategic partnerships, and the generation of positive narratives and news. The Ideas & Insights team also works with existing functions across the organization to connect these efforts to overall operations and strategies, and to explore and develop new proprietary survey research and message-testing tools.

This role will play a critical part in ensuring our research and communications projects are executed with speed, accuracy, and strategic alignment. By managing timelines, coordinating with vendors, and supporting the execution of research and communication of outputs, this person will help bring insights to life and enable the team to focus on what matters most: shaping high-impact strategies grounded in evidence.

This role can be based in San Francisco, New York City or Washington, DC. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:
  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of public opinion research and other types of research to help evaluate sentiment and test messages among target audiences

  • Manage the day-to-day progress of surveys and focus groups, coordinating timelines, procurement, and vendor relationships

  • Draft planning materials such as research briefs, timelines, and project trackers

  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to contribute to survey instruments and discussion guides, offering feedback and support

  • Ensure research findings are delivered on time and ready to share with stakeholders

  • Oversee organization of research repository in such a way that insights and assets are readily available to the Global Affairs team and partners

  • Take initiative on operational and communications tasks and grow into areas of strength

You might thrive in this role if you:
  • Have experience operating at the intersection of innovative technology, politics, public opinion research, and content generation

  • Have experience in project management, research operations, or communications

  • Are highly organized and thrive in fast-moving environments with lots of parallel workstreams

  • Have experience coordinating across multiple teams or stakeholders and managing external partners

  • Are an excellent writer and communicator, comfortable creating clear and concise materials

  • Have familiarity with public opinion research, policy, campaigns, or comms environments (preferred)

  • Are detail-oriented and methodical, but also able to pivot quickly and solve problems as they arise

  • Are proactive, reliable, and eager to take ownership of tasks big and small

  • Are comfortable working in ambiguity and figuring things out independently

  • Have experience working across short, mid-range, and long timelines and supporting editorial or communications teams in fast-paced environments such as media, tech, or politics

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and foster alignment across teams to help deliver outcomes
