Job Summary

The Office of Finance and Administration for University Advancement is currently seeking a Student Finance Assistant to join their team of professionals to assist with budgetary functions, including but not limited to maintaining budget files and spreadsheets. Duties to include:

  • Assists with running and distributing reports relating to department budget and expenses in PeopleSoft Financials
  • Assists in monitoring and reconciling monthly expenses for Finance and Operations
  • Updates and maintains the Finance and Operations budget trackers with all expense transactions.
  • Reviews and research outstanding expenses
  • Prepares requisitions or Foundation invoices for procurement purposes.
  • Assists in the maintenance of property records. Completes forms for transfer and surplus of property.
  • Assists in the management of the departments electronic filing system.
  • Uploads scanned documents into the department archive system on SharePoint
  • Assists with special projects, including research and draft reports.
  • Provides support to department staff on special projects as needed.
  • Scan documents as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.

Ability to work in a team setting.

Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.

Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.

Desired Qualifications

Preference given to candidates seeking finance or business degrees.

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
  • Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
Work Schedule

20 hours per week based on the student's class schedule. The hours of operation in the FIU Foundation are 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

$14.00/hour
