The Key Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing strategic commercial accounts. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key stakeholders, delivering tailored health benefit solutions, and collaborating across internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

Key Accountabilities:



  • Develop and execute strategic plans for assigned accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, aligning solutions with business needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure service excellence and issue resolution.
  • Represent the organization in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in client offerings.

They excel at building and maintaining executive-level relationships, developing tailored benefit solutions, and driving client satisfaction and retention. With exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills, they are adept at navigating complex client needs and aligning internal resources to deliver impactful outcomes. This individual is self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning, bringing both expertise and a collaborative spirit to the role.

Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years in healthcare sales or strategic account management.


Strongly Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in consultative strategic planning with employers or through broker/agent systems.
  • MN State life and health insurance license (required); CEBS designation encouraged.
  • Background in sales, marketing, business administration, or finance.
  • Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally.

  • Demonstrated success in cultivating and sustaining strategic relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret and communicate financial and performance data clearly.
  • Skilled in delivering persuasive presentations and communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Adept at balancing multiple priorities and aligning cross-functional teams to meet client objectives.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Comfortable navigating a dynamic healthcare landscape and adapting to evolving client needs.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (up to 25%) to support client engagement and relationship development.


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary range for this position is $126,000-$216-000. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
