This Position reports to:

Operations Finance Manager

As a Cost Accountant, you will collect and analyzes financial metrics, identifying trends and problems, communicating information to relevant groups, and recommending actions to improve financial performance of the specific factory/manufacturing site.

This is an on-site position based in Richmond, VA

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cost accounting activities including creation of standards, allocations, analysis, and ensure accuracy of BOM and routings as it relates to finished goods
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory & logistics by enforcing policies & procedures, monitoring adjustments and develop corrective action(s) for exceptions
  • Generate reporting for plan vs actual for costs, hours, production targets, etc.
  • Prepares financial modelling for various hypotheses and assesses impact to factory with special focus on product / business line profitability, product costing, production variances, over/under-absorption analysis / inventory analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting
  • Experience with SAP is required. Strong preference for candidates with Materials Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP) Modules.
  • Strong capability to collaborate with operations, warehouse, logistics & other functions
  • Microsoft Excel skills, including modeling
  • English language skill and proficiency
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
