Location:Gulf Coast Medical Center -13681 Doctor's WayFort Myers FL 33912 Department: Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/9:00:00 AM to 5:30:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$15.64 - $18.75 / hour Gulf Coast Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to work in the Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit. This position will be 5 days a week, weekdays, 8 hour shifts 0900-1730. No call required. Rotate Holidays per department guidelines. This role will mainly focus on assisting patients with getting up, walking to the chair, to the restroom, and dressed. They will remove IVs and assist the nurses in Phase II with discharging patients. It is a busy area with anywhere from 20-40 patients in a day discharging home. We also use this area for holds from time to time and would need to be able to help the RNs with general patient care as needed for a CNA. A current resume is required. Must meet minimum requirements, including a current FL Certification for Nursing Assistant, Basic Life Support Health Provider Certification through American Heart Association which does not expire within the next 90 days. Six months of current work experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred. SummaryProvides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed. RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a State Approved, CNA Education Program required (with at least 120 hours of academic studies and clinical training; 165 hours preferred in Acute Care). Experience: Previous CNA work experience preferred; or new graduate CNA with clinical training. Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. License: Current Florida CNA Certification; or a CNA certification active in another state which is transferrable to obtain Florida certification under reciprocity.
