Focus: Support the site's Epoxy 2 assets. The Manufacturing Leader position has shared responsibility and accountability for the management of plant assets, personnel, and achievement of plant-related business objectives. The role delivers plant based business and administrative leadership to an empowered, highly motivated, and talented organization.
The Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.
Manufacturing Leader Essential Job Functions
Supervises and provides performance evaluation, recognition, and discipline for direct reports. Creates an environment that fosters teamwork and develops ownership.
Model and champion a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring all work is performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, process safety standards, and company EH&S policies
Lead by example in promoting operational discipline, including routine field presence to verify that tasks are executed safely, effectively, and in alignment with Most Effective Technology (MET) and Operating Discipline requirements
Ensures implementation and ongoing effectiveness of defined plant operating discipline to maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and company policies, rules, and guidelines.
Ensure high standards of housekeeping and asset care, fostering a clean, organized, and efficient work environment that supports operational excellence
Promotes corporate initiatives within the department such as productivity and reliability improvements.
Participates in shut down and turnaround planning
Reviews and approves Management of Change (MOC) as defined in the MOC Policy
Manufacturing Leader Minimum Requirements:
- Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 10+ years of related operations experience; OR
- Bachelor's Degree* in engineering discipline plus 5+ years of related operations experience
- Epoxy experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of EHS requirements and maintenance work processes.
- Ability to mentor hourly operations personnel and engineers, and drive consistency and accountability to ensure tasks are correctly completed.
- Prior Olin experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
