As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will be responsible for maintaining Tiadaghton State Forest grounds and facilities through the completion of routine tasks and assignments. Duties will entail construction and maintenance work involving the use of various tools and equipment, as well as the maintenance of forest boundary lines and signs through the installation of posts and markers, repainting marked trees, and cutting vegetation as necessary. You will play a key role in ensuring the security and integrity of the grounds by using woodworking equipment to create trail and road signs, install gates, remove litter, and reduce hazards to state forest visitors. This professional also assists with snow removal and the suppression of forest fires by removing vegetation, patrolling fire lines, and operating portable pumps.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Wednesday, and 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
