Inova Mount Vernon is looking for a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) Weekend Premium to join the team. This role will be a Full Time-Night shift, working Friday - Sunday 7pm - 7am.

Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) Weekend Premium Job Responsibilities:



  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiologic principles, theory, anatomy and pathology processes by utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
  • Confidently operates radiological equipment in all care settings (i.e. fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency department and the Operating Room).
  • Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast under the American College of Radiology guidelines.
  • Assists in teaching radiography students sound radiography principles.


  • Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent from patients' and/or patients' charts to assist physicians in optimizing the performance and interpretation of examinations. Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation.
  • Assists physicians in performing a variety of examinations by using standard department protocols, isolation precautions, and/or sterile techniques.
  • Recognizes clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology school or program. Associates Degree preferred, but not required.
  • License: Must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free standing Imaging Center not affiliated with an Inova hospital.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association upon start. American Registered Radiologic Technologist within 12 Months.
  • Experience: Two years of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology. Recent experience in hospital/healthcare environment as a Radiologic Technologist or student.
