- The CNC Master Machinist performs the duties and tasks listed below to prove out CNC programs for production or prototype parts, including all necessary documentation.
- The CNC Master Machinist will work with manufacturing/process engineers and CNC programmers to complete these duties and tasks.
- Visually inspect equipment, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools prior to starting any shop order.
- Read and interpret operation sheets to understand work instructions and inspection record requirements.
- Upload and download programs per CNC Software Control.
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and reasonable manner according to the client's Employee Handbook.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and contribute to the client's 6S program and Lean concepts.
- Inspect all work performed by utilizing gauging and measurement instruments called out on the Inspection Record Sheets.
- Ensure that the inspection tools being used are up to date on calibration.
- Identify, prepare, and load fixtures and cutting tools into the CNC machine.
- Train co-workers in various aspects of the shop.
- Create offsets and ensure that any program changes are reported to the programmer.
- Read and understand G-Code and conversational programming.
- Assist in the reduction of setup times and costs.
- Assist in efficiently training CNC Production Machinists and Set-Up Machinists in all aspects of the job.
- Develop CNC programs written by the programmer for production and prototypes.
- Identify, modify, and verify conformity of production and prototype parts to the operation sheets or work orders.
- Perform any other related duties as needed.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 15 years of GD&T experience.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in reading and dimensional prints.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in machining various types of materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and Inconel.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess knowledge of CNC equipment capabilities and the ability to perform daily maintenance for the machines.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to stay focused, adapt to change, and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to understand how to touch-off tools and replace inserts and endmills, and follow set-up sheets.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of advanced math and computer functions (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
- Ability to use various inspection equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, gage pins, and height gages).
- Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to multitask, work effectively, and efficiently to meet shop order standards.
- Ability to operate manual bridge ports and lathes.
- Willing to train co-workers in various aspects of the shop.
- Able to communicate and read English proficiently.
- Ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to read a computer screen and documents.
- Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
