Position Overview

The Director of Public Sector and Healthcare Programs is a key leadership role within MillerKnoll's North American business. This individual will lead a highly collaborative team focused on driving our public sector and healthcare strategy through best-in-class program management and high-touch inside sales execution. This team is the connective tissue between our public sector and healthcare sales directors and regional sales directors, local sales teams, distribution partners, and internal stakeholders-ensuring that MillerKnoll captures and grows share across federal, state and local, higher education, and healthcare markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Program Management

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of public sector and healthcare program managers and inside sales professionals.
  • Ensure the team is responsive, proactive, and strategically aligned with business priorities.
  • Build a culture of excellence, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Market Strategy & Execution

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and corporate resource across public sector and healthcare verticals-federal, SLED (state and local government + education), and healthcare.
  • Oversee national and regional program activities, ensuring operational consistency, knowledge sharing, and alignment with field sales strategies.
  • Guide the team in supporting large, complex national accounts involving multiple dealers, sellers, and stakeholders.
  • Leverages Data from multiple internal and external sites to inform Team / Strategy
  • Leverage technology and digital platforms (e.g., AI, CRM, analytics tools) to optimize sales processes, improve decision-making, and ensure alignment with field sales strategies.

Field Sales & Dealer Support

  • Partner closely with public sector and healthcare sales directors and regional sales directors to identify opportunities, remove friction, and accelerate deal velocity.
  • Ensure team members act as embedded resources-supporting local sellers and dealers through proposal development, positioning, and solution design.
  • Drive strategic use of CRM and other platforms to coordinate activity, track progress, and deliver results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Forge strong partnerships with marketing, finance, operations, sales enablement, and legal to ensure the public sector team is aligned, informed, and resourced.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance internal visibility and engagement around the public sector business.
  • Act as a liaison and advocate for the team's needs at the leadership level.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5-7 years experience and proven leadership experience in sales, sales enablement, program management, or inside sales.
  • Deep knowledge of the public sector and healthcare ecosystem-ideally including federal, SLED, and/or healthcare procurement.
  • Strong strategic and operational acumen with the ability to translate complexity into scalable action.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams and drive change in complex organizations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills-able to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a drive to build, iterate, and improve
