Job Summary:

Northwestern's Environmental Policy and Culture Program seeks an experienced administrative professional to support several new initiatives. The Project Coordinator will help manage the search, hiring, and ongoing support of several visiting assistant professors; develop and administer a course development grant process; and support the day-to-day operations of the program.

The Project Coordinator position has a five-year term scheduled to end in 2030. This is a full-time position and works on-site 3 days per week. The first 6 months require 5 days onsite.

The target hiring range for this position will be between $53,000 - $68,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Specific Responsibilities:

Visiting Assistant Professor Program:

  • Manages hiring process for new visiting assistant professors (VAPs). Coordinates and supports teaching, mentoring, and programming activities for VAPs.

Course Development Grants:

  • Helps establish the application and awarding process for a course development grant fund, including supporting the awards committee. Publicizes the availability of the awards and the application process. Manages the disbursement of the funds and oversees subsequent monitoring of course development.

Administration:

  • Attends to administrative matters that come up in the course of supporting the VAPs and administering the development funds. Supports other staff in administrating the EPC Program more generally.

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree, OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • One-year program/project administration or other relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated collegiality working with a broad range of people
  • Demonstrated administration skills and attention to details
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies or a Social Sciences field
  • 4+ years of administrative experience
