Job Description

Job Summary

The IT Program Director is responsible for the implementation and management of large-scale IS&T programs/initiatives, typically requiring coordination and leadership of multiple IS&T teams, vendor(s), and clinical/business operations. They will manage and direct assigned staff, in close collaboration w/ an IS&T executive sponsor, providing day-to-day oversight around the scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, issue/risk management, status reporting, stakeholder engagement and all other functions around program-level project management in delivering high profile, strategic integrated initiatives as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Successfully delivers highly complex, high-value, integrated solutions that meet Jefferson strategic objectives through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provides strategic direction and oversight of multiple workstreams spanning the different IS&T domains, e.g. Applications, Servers/Storage, Network, Information Security, etc.
  • Manages large cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed, collaborative environment w/ resources numbering several tens to a few hundred people.
  • Collaborates effectively w/ other Jefferson directors and above to align priorities, manage expectations, and coordinate work.
  • Manages executive-level expectations and facilitates program governance through the effective use of project management, change management, and communication best practices.
  • Establishes structures and processes that enable the identification and production of work, accountability, transparent monitoring for timely intervention when necessary, and on-time delivery, through Go-Live
  • Manages cross-team relationships, including contractors/vendors, fostering strong engagement, alignment, and achievement of a common goal.
  • Manages administrative activities as necessary, including budget, reviews, reports, and executive-level presentations/documents.
  • Applies continuous improvement to mature and further develop the Jefferson IS&T PMO's ability to deliver large-scale programs/initiatives w/ greater efficiency.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

Knowledge of Program management, portfolio management, and project management approaches and methods, including both waterfall and agile lifecycle management, and the ability to effectively apply

Proficiency in salient PPM tools and solutions, e.g. MS Project, MS Visio, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

AND

Experience:

10 years of direct project management experience w/ 5 years as a program or portfolio manager
