We are seeking a Quality Control Technician, County Ready Mix in Merrill, WI.

Quality Control Technicians in the Ready Mix Division travel to various company plants and jobsites to perform processes that assure our Ready Mixed Concrete meets specifications. This position also tests the quality and acceptance of raw materials.

Job Duties:


  • Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the production of materials and product
  • Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the concrete industry
  • Work with production to identify and resolve quality issues related to concrete performance
  • Manage housekeeping to ensure a safe workplace
  • Other tasks as needed


Work Environment:


  • Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions
  • Work near moving machinery and equipment
  • Work in a noisy environment


Physical Requirements:


  • Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds frequently
  • Carrying/Lifting > 40 Pounds occasionally
  • Standing / Walking / Climbing
  • Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending
  • Pushing / Pulling / Reaching Above Shoulder


Experience & Qualifications:


  • Concrete plant and/or quality control experience highly desired
  • Ability to interpret job specifications
  • Proficient Computer Skills with Microsoft Office
  • Solid math aptitude
  • Must have the ability to train and obtain technical certifications as directed and supported by the company
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in the construction and/or building materials industry preferred
  • Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record required
