JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Background - Digital Foundry

The Digital Foundry is a regional hub for innovation, creative thinking, problem solving, learning, and collaboration around advanced manufacturing technologies and processes. Our vision is improving lives and strengthening businesses through access to digital technologies. We provide workforce development training, guidance to local participating manufacturing enterprises on digital manufacturing technologies and processes, and host networking events for the surrounding region.

Job Duties

The part-time intern in this role will work with the Digital Foundry Operations & Programming Manager to help prepare and deliver education and workforce programming for STEM camps at the high school level. Specifically, the responsibilities will include:

  • Work on STEM programming to prepare for activities and help to facilitate training for upcoming BELONG in STEM camps.
  • Work with education fellows and interns deliver curriculum for rising 8th grade to 12th grade students.
Reporting Hierarchy

The part-time intern will report to the Digital Foundry Manager of Workforce Development and Education. They will work with the Digital Foundry education team prepare camp programming for our BELONG in STEM cohorts.

Schedule and Time Commitment:

The part-time internship will run from July 28, 2025, to August 25, 2025. The intern will devote ~22 hours/week the weeks of 7/28 and 8/4. For weeks 8/11 and 8/18 the requests house will be no more than 3 hours each week to help with post camp evaluation/feedback and supplies inventory assessment for WF training programs moving forward. Since this is a part-time opening, all work will be done in person at the Foundry.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience working with secondary education-aged youth (rising 8th to rising 12th grade) in educational capacity - degree of study in education preferred.
  • Good written, verbal communication and collaboration skills (strong listening skills).
  • Able to lead instruction on Birdbrain Technologies educational devices and software.
  • Ability to take initiative, work well in teams and be comfortable in a changing environment.
  • Must have transportation or a means travel locally.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
