Description
The Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a full time Events Specialist II. In this role you would provide comprehensive coordination and management of logistics for Department of Surgery events through client consultation, management of complex events and seminars, problem solving, and project oversight. The Event Specialist II will use experience to independently perform responsibilities, analyze problems, and apply discretion. In Additionally, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Department of Surgery Director and Manager to ensure successful implementation and monitoring of assigned programs, ensuring they are aligned with the department goals. Pay Range: $28.30 - $54.74 hourly
Qualifications
- Working organizational skills, including skill in effectively coordinating and organizing multiple details.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately with detail
- Working knowledge of the campus, its programs, policies, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and production and public relations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively under conditions of frequent interruptions, distractions, and deadlines
- Ability to handle stressful circumstances calmly, effectively, and efficiently
- Excellent organizational abilities appropriate to effective calendar management and student and / or volunteer scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability in working as a part of a team
- Good interpersonal communication skills and political acumen, including skill in effectively representing the campus, medical center or other university organization to its publics
- Good judgment and effective decision-making and problem resolution skills, including skill to recognize and deal effectively and appropriately with real and potential problem areas, including skill to determine the issues / problems that need to be brought to the attention of higher-level staff and / or management.
- Ability to work in diverse groups, including but not limited to students, staff, faculty, general public, production personnel, technical operators and performing artists
