Job Description

The Accountant - Fixed Asset is responsible for managing the capital budget, asset management, capital lease
accounting, and order settlement processes. This role involves creating and maintaining the annual capital budget
structure, capitalizing and depreciating assets, processing and maintaining capital leases, and ensuring accurate
accounting for fixed assets. They will also coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper accounting and reporting.

What your day will look like:
  • Create the annual budget structure and communicate with business and management to allocate the budget
  • Safeguard the capital budget and ensure spending follows company guidelines
  • Supplement, transfer and return capital budget upon request and assist management with reporting
  • Capitalize assets, maintain the asset subledger, and manage associated General Ledger Acquisition Accounts
  • Depreciate assets and maintain associated General Ledger Accumulated Depreciation and Depreciation Expense
    Accounts
  • Retire assets from the asset subledger and manage associated General Ledger Gain/Loss accounts
  • Maintain Fixed Asset clearing accounts and Construction in Process (CIP) accounts
  • Research lease contracts and apply accounting rules from ASC 842 to prospective and existing capital leases
  • Create, maintain and terminate capital leases, making monthly entries affecting ROU assets, and various expense
    and liability accounts
  • Report on capital leases and associated entries
  • Process settlement on all non-production orders, including Placement Orders for Cold Drink Equipment (CDE),
  • Reman Orders for Equipment Refurbishment Center (ERC), Fleet Orders, and Disposal Orders
  • Analyze and review ERC Cold Drink Equipment (CDE) expenditures to ensure proper accounting of fixed assets
  • Reconcile equipment records to asset records and coordinate with internal teams for analysis and reporting
  • Coordinating with upper management to deliver reports used in financial reporting
  • Researching and responding to reporting requests from cross-functional departments, Internal/External audit,
    financial accounting
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting from four-year College or university; and 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel {Formulas}, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong analytical, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Physical Requirements

Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
