DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will conduct duties throughout the Lyman Run complex which includes Cherry Springs, Patterson, and Denton Hill State Parks. You may also be tasked with special projects and assignments at other parks in the Hills Creek State Park complex. Maintenance and construction assignments may be completed independently or with other skilled workers and may require the use of small equipment such as excavators, tractors, and mowers. You will be responsible for the complete performance of general housekeeping and building maintenance by cleaning and supplying restrooms, pit latrines, offices, and all other buildings. You will also tend to grounds upkeep and complete minor repairs and painting projects. This professional may be required to assist park visitors by providing general information in a friendly and helpful manner.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, 37.5 hours/week, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in approximately March 2026.
  • This is a seven day a week operation. Work schedule varies and will include weekends and holidays.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
