Digital Asset Management Specialist II

Location: Hybrid - Preference given to candidates in the Honesdale, PA or Columbus, OH markets

Position Summary:

The Digital Asset Management Specialist II is responsible for organizing and managing digital assets within the Highlights for Children Family of Companies Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), ensuring easy access for teams and aligning with business processes. They collaborate on product information management strategies, manage accurate product data, and oversee metadata integration, optimization, and transformation. The role includes handling asset requests, managing user access and permissions, conducting user acceptance testing, and providing training and support. The role also supports our Workfront integration efforts by maintaining workflow connectivity between systems, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with project management platforms. Additionally, they assist with digital asset governance activities, ensuring compliance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, catalogs, and stores assets into our platform, ensuring appropriate access for relevant teams.
  • Fulfills asset requests, as necessary, for both internal and external needs. Modifies assets to comply with specific file requirements as needed.
  • Develops support documentation and provides training to new groups of users to help ensure accessibility and ease-of-use for stakeholders.
  • Collaborates on best practices for file health with design team members or freelancers as needed and monitors implementation.
  • Manages user access and permissions. Responsible for how stakeholders and qualified external collaborators can access, use, and interact with the company's digital assets.
  • Manages system configurations, including setting up workspaces, automations, and fields. Creates new capabilities for integrations of various systems. Pushes configuration changes to Git.
  • Creates test plans and tests Censhare system releases, Creative Cloud updates, plug-ins, and font compatibility; troubleshoots issues related to InDesign Server, previews, or export errors.
  • Maintains and supports platform integrations (e.g., Workfront and CI Hub) by mapping data sources and destinations, troubleshooting migration issues, and ensuring smooth and accurate data transfers.
  • Conducts user acceptance testing (UAT), documents system bugs, monitors resolutions, and verifies fixes to support continuous improvement.
  • Performs digital asset lifecycle maintenance activities to maintain high-quality, accurate data, including system cleanup (e.g., data cleanup, deduplication of assets, setup of storage tiers, etc.)
  • Validates, cleanses, and transforms data to ensure consistency for modernization initiatives. Implements metadata transformations for various imports, exports, and reports.
  • Collaborates with team members to develop our product information management strategy, integrating into all relevant business processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, Digital Media, or a related field preferred
  • Two years of direct DAMS experience OR one year of direct experience with Censhare DAM

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Censhare or another integrated DAM system.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop for publishing production.
  • Experience with Connect Fonts or other font management tool
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills
  • Supports the development and implementation of plugins and connectors for software systems that work with the DAMS
  • Data reporting and transformation experience preferred
  • Experience with Workfront a plus
  • Solution-oriented and can grasp complex topics quickly
  • Communicates effectively and collaborates well with others
  • Demonstrates flexibility, takes initiative, and shows a strong curiosity for continuous learning
  • Strong attention to detail
