Responsibilities

Program and Position Description:

This program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an Intelligence Community (IC) customer with a focus on acquisition and operations of a system providing assured space communications and supporting Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems life cycle including concept of operations (CONOPs) development, capturing requirements, working with developers to deliver capability, testing to ensure capabilities meet requirements, transition to operations and operations support. The program also supports innovations/technology development, provides acquisition and project management support to government program managers and IT information assurance security support. As an entry level position, on the job training will be provided by co-workers and team leads to ensure appropriate level assignments are provided to ensure success.

Standard Position Description:

  • Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions.
  • Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
  • Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
  • Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
  • Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
  • Designs interfaces and brings system elements together, so they work as a whole.
  • Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 to 4 years with BS or 0 to 2 years with MS.
  • (4 years of relevant experience in an RF communications development/acquisition program can be substituted)
  • Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree.
  • The ability to work well within a team of engineers
  • Demonstrated success in working with government customers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance

Desired:

  • Experience with Commercial/Government acquisition of satellite/ground segment hardware/software or satellite based communications field set hardware/software.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Prior experience as a SETA with NUO IC customer work with requirements and other related readiness processes.
  • Prior experience with RF based satellite communications.
  • Prior experience with digital signal processing.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
