Triage Nurse - Orthopedic (casual position, primarily onsite)

Position Summary:

Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse's competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program. Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients. Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service.

Casuals must work 2 times per month but we are searching for someone who would be able to work a bit more often. Hybrid role after 6 months is an option. Most shifts likely in clinic. Primarily taking triage calls for our Park Nicollet orthopedic providers specializing in total joints, shoulders, sports med, hand, general nonop ortho, and biologics. Role also includes blood draws, evenity injections, MRSA/MSSA swabs, and post op appointments.

Variable Monday-Friday 8-5

Required Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  
  
  
  • Graduated from a school of nursing.
    
    
    
    • Associate degree/diploma or higher required.
    
    
  
  
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  
  
  
  • Maintain a current state certified registered nurse's licensure.
  • BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross guidelines.
  
  

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  
  
  
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served.
  • Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multitask.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred.
