Immersive Audio Re-recording Mixer (Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio) Immersive Audio Team This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), on-site contract role located in Irvine, CA. Summary Our client is seeking a seasoned Re-recording Mixer to support immersive sound production for cutting-edge visual experiences. This role will focus on mixing surround and immersive audio content for non-traditional media formats. You'll work closely with the internal audio team, creative leads, and partners to deliver innovative soundscapes that elevate storytelling in a new generation of media experiences. Our Ideal Candidate 7+ years of experience in post-production sound, with a focus on surround and immersive formats (e.g., Dolby Atmos, Ambisonic, object-based audio) Passion for sound design and storytelling, with strong technical and creative instincts Proficient in Pro Tools, S6 (or similar control surfaces), and immersive audio workflows Familiar with streaming and broadcast specs and standards Skilled in collaborating with clients, creative leads, and technical partners Able to manage multiple audio projects simultaneously under tight deadlines Flexible and adaptable to new tools, workflows, and evolving priorities Strong verbal and written communication with exceptional attention to audio detail Open-minded, curious, and collaborative with a solutions-oriented mindset Hands-on sound editing experience is a plus Job Description In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Audio Lead and in-house sound team to support immersive post-production workflows. You'll partner with internal and external stakeholders to create high-quality predubs and final mixes for immersive audio experiences. This includes: Mixing content in immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos and Ambisonic Supporting editorial sound tasks and developing new spatial audio workflows Exploring new mixing methodologies for next-gen media formats Managing delivery of multiple projects while ensuring quality and creative intent Helping define and improve technical processes and audio toolkits Adapting to new platforms and actively participating in their development Applying sound design expertise to craft compelling immersive soundscapes You will also contribute to ongoing workflow optimization and support the sound team's mission to pioneer high-quality immersive audio in non-traditional media formats. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in audio production, music technology, sound design, or equivalent experience Background in immersive audio post-production, gaming, or interactive content preferred Additional Requirements Please include a resume and audio reel or portfolio showcasing immersive mixing experience (Dolby Atmos or similar formats preferred). This opportunity is located in Irvine, CA and requires 100% on-site work. The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $100.00 - $113.40 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
