JLL Design Services is the design and architecture division of JLL, offering a comprehensive range of services to enhance commercial real estate assets and create unique work environments. They provide interior design, workplace strategy, architecture, project management, and sustainability and wellness solutions. They manage the entire design process, incorporating sustainable design principles and certifications, and strive to create innovative and inspiring workspaces that reflect the evolving needs of businesses.

What the job involves:

We are seeking a passionate graphic and interior designer to work with us in our Columbus, OH studio for Summer 2025. The successful candidate will support the design studio across various aspects of our work by creating innovative consumer-driven experiences.

As a Graphic Design/Interior Design Intern at JLL, you will:

• Collaborate with other team members, including designers, project managers, and marketing professionals to ensure design projects meet clients' expectations

• Conducting market research, gathering inspiration from competitors, and presenting research findings to the design team

• Work with the design team to develop visual concepts for retail branding, store signage, window displays, and other marketing materials

• Assist with the production of print and digital design materials, including layouts, typography, and image manipulation

• Edit InDesign and PowerPoint presentation templates to incorporate feedback from stakeholders or clients

• Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, archiving, and organizing design files.

• Willingness to learn new software and tools specifically relevant to the retail design industry.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Pursuant or completed Bachelor's degree in visual communications or graphic design

• Strong portfolio showing a range of skills

• An interest and understanding of brand standards and style guidelines

• Ability to communicate concepts and ideas to others

• Knowledge of design principles and aesthetics specifically relevant to retail environments

• Ability to quickly produce high-quality concept sketches and mockups

• Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Office 365 tools

• Ability to develop strong relationships with the design team, vendors, and other partners in the retail industry

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and ideas to the design team

• Strong listening skills

• Ability to excel under pressure

• Attention to detail and a critical eye for design quality and consistency

• Strong follow-up and follow through
