Telecommunications Technician - Data Center Construction Location: Gallatin, TN (Greater Nashville Area) Client: TEKsystems Client Type: 6-Month Contract (with strong potential for extension or permanent hire) Step Into the Heart of a Major Data Center Build This is your chance to be part of a high-profile data center construction project-a fast-paced, high-tech environment where your skills will directly support the backbone of global digital infrastructure. As a Telecommunications Technician, you'll play a key role in building out the structured cabling and connectivity that power mission-critical operations. What You'll Be Doing * Installing, terminating, and testing Cat5/Cat6 cabling across a large-scale data center * Supporting low-voltage infrastructure in an active construction zone * Troubleshooting and resolving network issues on-site * Configuring telecom hardware including routers, switches, VoIP, and PBX systems * Collaborating with project teams to ensure timely and accurate installations * Maintaining detailed service records and adhering to safety protocols Top Skills We're Looking For * Structured cabling: Cat5/Cat6, punch down, and termination * Experience in data center environments or large commercial builds * Familiarity with low-voltage systems and telecom hardware * Ability to work safely and efficiently in a construction setting Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
