Scope of leadership role

The North America Motors & Drives division, a $1B global business, with 6,000 associates within the Power and Efficiency Solutions (PES) Segment of Regal Rexnord, is seeking an experienced Product Manager for our Pump Business Unit. This is a critical role in creating and driving a growth-focused product strategy.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management for the Pump BU, this role will have responsibility for the development and execution of product line roadmaps that enable sustainable differentiation for the assigned segment of the business while ensuring a balanced portfolio of investments in core products through the identification of new product development in top 20% of customers or markets. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional product development teams, engineering teams, sales teams, marketing communications teams, finance teams, and business leadership. S/he will be responsible for driving activities and decisions focused on maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and growing market share through innovation with purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire life cycle of the assigned Motor product lines within the division, from strategic planning and product definition to tactical launch activities, share growth, and end-of-life management.
  • Establish annual targets for growth and margin attainment, develop monthly tracking and metrics to measure performance, reporting out regularly to the BU leadership team.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products, and executes countermeasures where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and lead the ongoing Innovation and VOC exercises. Combine this information with a business case analysis to define business requirements and the product's value proposition.
  • Develop and implement cohesive short- and long-term product line roadmaps for Motors platforms.
  • Operate as the internal voice of our customers across development teams (primarily Engineering, Sales, and Marketing) through an understanding of market requirements, product definition, training, and launch activities.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; developing quantifiable and sustainable value propositions from the customers' perspective vs. the next best alternative; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
  • Develops product pricing strategies and manages the team to drive maximum profit and sales.
  • Develop core messaging and positioning for assigned product lines within the business based on the established value proposition derived through VOC.
  • Manage assigned product lines to the Regal Rexnord Business System, which includes 80/20 and Continuous Improvement in all aspects of product management and decision making.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements and appraising new product ideas.
  • Develops controls and reviews KPIs in reference to planned objectives.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an Accredited University
  • Minimum 8 years of Commercial or Product Management experience with highly engineered products in a complex B2B industrial manufacturing enterprise
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint) and CRM (i.e., SalesForce.com or Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Must have the ability to digest commercial transaction data to manage the product families and identify trends/issues (i.e., Power BI)
  • Capable of both strategic thinking and tactical execution. High Passion for technology, innovation, and customer engagement
  • Can effectively cope with ambiguity and change; can decide and act without having the total picture and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
  • Experience with forecasting, forecasting methodology and use of forecasting tools
  • Experience with concepts of 80/20 and Lean Management
  • Is high energy, action oriented and focused on producing outcomes, bottom-line oriented and steadfastly pushes self and others forward to the goal
  • Skilled at managing conflict and finding resolution quickly in a team setting
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level of personal initiative and ownership of results
  • Strong computer skills - Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams)
  • Ability to work independently and at times remotely
  • Relevant industry experience, typically Pumping, Water Management, Materials Handling/Conveying, and/or Industrial Equipment spaces

  • Must be able to travel at least 30% of the time domestically and internationally as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pump or related Industry experience
  • Hands on Application experience
  • Strong Technical and Mechanical Aptitude/Abilities
  • Understanding of Building Automation/Smart Systems
  • Experience in Agile Product Management teams
  • Experience with NPD stage gate and/or portfolio management systems/software
  • Experience with the 80/20 process and product line simplification
