Hourly Pay Range:

$46.79 - $72.52 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Job Summary:

As the Manager, Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the System's financial accounting activities, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, adhering to regulatory requirements, and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making. This position requires a strong background in healthcare finance, leadership skills, and attention to detail. This role will have direct reports.

What you will do:

  • Ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintaining and reconciling the hospital's general ledger accounts.
  • Monitoring account activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Coordinating annual financial audits and ensuring compliance with healthcare industry regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA.
  • Addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the department's effectiveness and growth.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance financial controls, and improve efficiency within the department

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) - Preferred
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 or more years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in healthcare finance required.
